Out of sequence – it’s breakfast week but Claire pulled together a blueberry / strawberry cobbler for me on the 3rd. She sent me a few text with questions but otherwise pulled it together. We brought it to a 4th of July party. Yummy!
Week 1 Day 3
Yesterday Claire-Tartare made an amazing cobbler http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Brown-Sugar-Berry-Cobbler for a 4th of July party. Not part of the cooking camp but she did an awesome job.
Cooking camp produced Blue Hill Granola.
Week 1 Day 1 of Mama Crepe’s Cooking Camp
Week 1 of Mama Crepe’s Cooking Camp is focused on breakfast foods. Day 1 we learned how to make crepes. We used Alton Brown’s Crepe Recipe which worked well for us. We filled the crepes with Nutella, peanut butter or strawberry jam. It made about 18 crepes and they were all devoured. We can’t agree on the favorite and while it looks pretty gross below, from my POV the Nutella crepe is the winner…
Week 1 Day 2
Today we made Overnight Waffles from the Better Homes and Garden cookbook. The girls mixed the batter last night and put it in the fridge. This morning they got up early so we could bake the waffles before I left for work. Each batch improved. First batch was a little dark but edible. They were a hit. Recipe made 12 waffles.
